There are some changes at the Greyfriars Equine Unit. Debbie Watson is now concentrating on the small animal veterinary work. Pippa Duncan and Sherri are remaining at the Greyfriars site (office and stable/examining room facilities) and have been joined by Eamon Smyth and Jack Ashby of EquiVet. For more information on Eamon and Jack, visit the EquiVet website: www.equi-vet.co.uk
At Greyfriars the vets have access to a range of the latest mobile equipment including mobile and static digital X-ray equipment, portable ultrasound scanners, power dental rasps, endoscopy and shockwave equipment. Clients can bring their horses into the Equine Unit (in which case no visit charge is applicable). This can be beneficial when it is more appropriate for horses to be brought into the quiet and relaxed environment of the unit for examination or treatment. There are stocks for examining a horse safely and securely when required. In addition Greyfriars maintain one of only a few official measuring pads in the country. Pippa Duncan is accredited by the Joint Measuring Board to take official measurements. As well as treating horses at our premises, the vets visit horses throughout Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex.
